Knee Supporters:

Knee problems are very common problems as people age for which they need knee supporters. Knee injuries are the commonest of injuries that athletes suffer. If not attended to in time, they can cause immense pain and can be resolved only by surgery. Sometimes the problem is caused by deformed or broken bones but sometimes the problem is twisted, strained or torn ligaments. Knee joints are constantly under pressure when we stand or climb steps. Individuals who are overweight also have trouble with knee joints.

Often people do not exercise the right way. They go jogging on tarred roads or on concrete. Each time feet hit the hard surface; there are shock waves sent to the knees and by and by wear and tear becomes obvious. Jogging should be done on prepared jogging surfaces. If there is pain experienced in the knees, the individual can wear knee supporters. There are many types of knee supporters or knee braces available. These do not cause restrictions on any movement.

Knee Supports/Immobolizers on HealthKart come in various sizes suited to the the need and condition of the person. All these knee supports and accessories are lightweight and tight fitting but they permit easy movement of knees. Some knee supporters are worn by sportsmen who take part in contact sports like rugby and football. These are prophylactic as they are designed to prevent damage and injury. Knee injuries and ligament tears require different approaches. Braces are also worn by individuals who have degenerative arthritis or old injuries. Knee support accessories should be worn only for a specified number of hours as continuous wear will make the knee completely dependent on the support. Along with knee supporters, physiotherapy should also be followed.
