To lose weight, you need to follow a calorie deficit diet as per your requirement. Follow a diet rich in selenium like  sea food, milk, and milk products, also consume fiber and complex carbohydrates in your diet. Avoid certain foods like soybean and cruciferous vegetables like cabbage cauliflower, and mustard.
