I spent approx. 2hrs. in gym but don't take any protein/supplement etc.. is there any problem in not taking them?

If you are on good diet by natural sources then it is no problem otherwise you it is need, body needs protein carbs and fat in right proportions. You take it by natural source or Supliment is no matter....... It need of body after workout.

There is no problem taking protein supplements. They are perfectly safe to use.
