Why did you decide to transform?

My transformation journey started back in 2002 during the postpartum period, I had just given birth to my second child. I was tired of not feeling confident about myself, I was not happy with what I saw in the mirror so in order to love myself again I decided to transform myself.

How did you accomplish your goals?

I was surrounded by really negative people during that time so the only resort that came to mind was yoga, so I started practicing yoga and did some little changes to my diet, little did I know how much I was going to love it. So I went on and practised yoga for 13 years! Fast-forward to 2015 I was introduced to Aerobics, Zumba, Functional Training and so many different forms of exercises, I couldn’t resist myself but try it and here I was in love with this kind of training. I’ve been practicing so many different forms of exercise ever since and have made critical changes in my diet and lifestyle.

Training routine that helped you to achieve your goals?

I practice Zumba, Functional Training, Yoga, Aerobics, Ploxing, PowerGarba, Bombay Jam and have been recently introduced to weight training, so many forms of exercises keep me excited throughout my journey. I follow a very basic Indian diet but made made few adjustments of keeping my carbs very low and including a portion of protein with every meal.

Which supplements did you take?

I didn’t introduce any supplements in my diet until recently, I consume a protein shake frequently to keep me going.

What challenges did you face during your transformation?

Challenge is a way of life you have to fight through all the tough times and stay consistent in your journey. I would say the only challenge was not following a healthy routine.

Suggestion for future transformers?

I say this to all my students, I’ve been doing this for the last 19 years, fitness is not a destination, it’s a way of life. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results in 2-3 months, it takes discipline, it takes consistency and a lot of hard work but when you are that happy it all pays off!
