1. Women 

  • For maintaining weight: 
  1. Age (19 to 30 ) : Mostly it is recommended to have 2000 to 2400 calories daily. 
  2. Age (31 to 59): women of this age group should aim for having 1,800 to 2200 calories per day. 
  3. Over 60: This age group should aim for consuming 1600 to 2000 calories per day. 
  • For losing weight: 
  1. Age (19 to 30): Women should consume less than 2000 calories per day. It is better to reduce calorie intake by 500 per day. 
  2. Age (31 to 59): Women should consume less than 1,800 to 2200 calories per day. Like the previous age group, this one should also reduce the calorie intake by 500 per day. 
  • For gaining weight: 
  1. Age (19 to 30): Women should consume more than 2000 calories per day. It is better to increase calorie intake by 500 per day. 
  2. Age (31 to 59): Women should consume more than 1,800 to 2200 calories per day.  It is better to increase calorie intake by 500 per day. 

2. Men 

  • For maintaining weight: 
  1. Age (19 to 30): Men should have 2400 to 3000 (approximately) calories per day. 
  2. Age (31 to 59): Men with this age group should take 2200 to 3000 (approximately) calories per day. 
  3. Over 60: Men in this age group should consume approximately 2000 to 2600 calories per day to maintain weight. 
  • For losing weight: 
  1. Age (19 to 30): It is ideal to reduce 500 calories per day from the recommended for maintaining the weight. Consume less than 2400 to 3000 (approximately) calories per day. 
  2. Age (31 to 59): Try to reduce 500 calories per day from the daily count of 2200 to 3000 (approximately).
  • For gaining weight: 
  1. Age (19 to 30): To gain weight, it is ideal to take 500 calories from the count of 2400 to 3000 per day. 
  2. Age (31 to 59): To gain weight, it is best to take 500 calories from the daily count of 2200 to 3000.
