Rishab’s Road to Resilience: Strength and Consistency

1. Why did you decide to transform?

I had mostly been a skinny kid and was really underweight. My friends and relatives always used to say that I look so weak. So, I decided to join the gym and start working out. Initially, my aim was to gain weight but as time passed by, I fell in love with the process and decided to transform my physique completely.

2. How did you accomplish your goals?

Primarily, discipline helped me achieve my goals. A blend of consistent efforts for two years with a strict diet, regular workouts, and proper rest enabled me to push my limits and achieve my goals.

3. Training routine that helped you achieve your goals?

I switch workout splits after every 3-4 months. Workout 5-6 times a week, focusing on progressive overload, and training close to failure is my daily dose.

4. Which supplements did you take?

I take whey protein, creatine, and sometimes pre-workout to feel the pump in my body for an effective workout.

5. What challenges did you face during your transformation?

During my bulking phase, the major challenge I faced was eating so many calories.  I have been skinny all my life, and getting my body used to eating so much food was the most challenging part. I had to force myself to eat on a lot of days, but at the end, I had to get used to it.

6. Suggestion for future transformers.

Stay patient. Stick to the process and fall in love with the journey. Understand that changes take time, and you will reach your goal eventually. Just don’t give up and keep on working hard.

I was bullied back in school, made fun of, and was fed up with the body I was trapped in. So, I decided to transform my physique and feel confident.

2. How did you accomplish your goals?

I used to train with bricks in my room and watched YouTube videos to gain knowledge. Then, I started to transform gradually and meet my goals everyday.

3. Training routine that helped you achieve your goals?

Basic push-pull-legs repeat but I started to change some training days according to my weaker muscle groups.

4. Which supplements did you take?

At the start, I took mass gainers then later on switched to protein and creatine.

5. What challenges did you face during your transformation?

Money and time were the biggest challenge as I didn’t ask for money from my parents for anything. So, I started working from a young age.

6. Suggestion for future transformers.

Enjoy the process, and be grateful for what you have but not complacent. Focus on your personal growth rather than comparing yourself with others.

Fitness Backed by Science – Manav Dhall’s Journey

Why did you decide to transform?

As a Punjabi boy who is very fond of eating and always surrounded by food, I was overweight most of my childhood. At the age of sixteen, I got conscious of my looks and decided to lose weight. I was getting uncomfortable about children always talking about me and my body. I followed a Dietician’s “DIET” religiously for months without slipping into temptations and I did see the result and reached a respectable weight. I always knew that the DIET wasn’t sustainable. And one day, my fear became reality when my job started, and once again, I started gaining weight at my own pace without realizing it and slowly reaching where it all started. I was 107 kgs at 5’9” and could barely do anything without getting tired. This is when I decided that this must end and I should do something about it.

How did you accomplish your goals?

For a few years, I did a lot of experiments with diet and workouts and achieved decent results but I realized neither the plans I made were sustainable nor did I achieve my dream body. Then I came across an online coaching platform and their approach made sense to me. Everything they said or did was backed by science. I transformed myself and eventually started reading and learning more about nutrition and workout. Before I knew it, my necessity became my passion and now, I work as an online fitness coach myself.

Training routine that helped you achieve your goals?

I followed a calorie deficit diet, managed to complete 10k steps every day, and did strength training at home with a pair of dumbbells for about 40-50mins. I never starved myself or restricted myself from eating a particular type of food. My approach was also backed by science and research. I enjoyed the journey.

Which supplements did you take?

I took whey protein to complete my body’s protein requirement and took multivitamins to avoid any deficiency that may come due to a calorie deficit diet. I have tried a lot of brands and by far, MuscleBlaze is the most economical and versatile brand in the market I have come across.

What challenges did you face during your transformation?

In the early days, the challenges I faced were controlling the temptation to eat outside or eat what I like, not having time to go to the gym, not feeling motivated on most days, worrying too much about the scale not moving, change in the pace of weight drop after some time. But the biggest challenge was to START the journey.

Suggestion for future transformers

Being someone who has tried everything from a strict monotonous diet, intermittent fasting, and keto to running for hours and spending too much time on cardio and crunches, I have learned that losing fat is much simpler than we think although it’s not easy. You have to be disciplined and just because you can eat everything doesn’t mean you should. All you need to do is follow a calorie-deficit diet, do strength training at least 4 times a week, and increase your activity (walking is best). It is best to invest in a good coach for professional guidance.

One Kg At A Time – Pratima Lokwani’s Journey

Why did you decide to transform?

I was 112 kgs and had many health issues like thyroid, PCOD, knee pain & my weight was constantly increasing because of my poor eating habits and because of PCOD, I didn’t get my monthly cycle for one year. I couldn’t climb the stairs properly and I was just 19 years old which was an alarming situation for me. This is when I decided to lose weight – I decided to transform myself and switch to healthy lifestyle.

How did you accomplish your goals?

I have been very consistent in my weight loss journey. Yes, there were many ups and downs but I had set my mind very well that I have to lose weight. Because of my consistency I accomplished my weight loss goal in a span of 10 months.

Training routine that helped you achieve your goals?

I used to walk for an hour and was fully focused on my diet. After my weight loss, I joined the gym to tone up my body. I have been working out in the gym for 5 years now.

Which supplements did you take?

I took multivitamins and fish oil in my weight loss journey and I still take them. I fulfill my protein intake from my diet only.

What challenges did you face during your transformation?

Starting weight loss was easy, but as I progressed my weight was stuck for two months. At the time I thought about whether I would lose weight further or not? But I didn’t give up and continued my diet. And finally, after 2 months my weight started decreasing again.

At this juncture, other people also get demotivated and leave the weight loss journey in the middle. I would suggest please be consistent as your body will start responding again.

Suggestion for future transformers?

No one else can make you lose weight. You must undertake diet and exercise changes to please yourself. I would suggest a few tips which will surely help you to lose your weight.

1. Stay active: regular exercise is important for physical and mental health too. Increasing the frequency of physical activity in a disciplined way is often crucial for successful weight loss. If you don’t have time to go to the gym and work out – don’t worry you can work out at home, you can go for a walk or you can do yoga at home.

2. Do not skip breakfast: skipping breakfast will not help you lose weight – yes, you could miss out on essential nutrients and you may end up snacking more throughout the day because you feel hungry.

3. Drink plenty of water: people sometimes confuse thirst with hunger. You can end up consuming extra calories when a glass of water is really what you need.

4. Read food labels: reading food labels can help you choose healthier options. Use the calorie information to work out how a particular food fits into your daily calorie allowance.

5. Plan your meals: try to plan your breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for the week. Make sure you stick to your calorie allowance.

The last and most important tip for your weight loss journey – be positive and stay consistent towards your goals. Don’t ever give up.
