It is bloating when your abdomen feels full and tight. It can range from being slightly uncomfortable to severely painful. It usually goes away after some time. However, for some people, it can occur again.

1. Herbal Teas 

Teas made from herbs may help with digestion and reduce gas. Herbal teas like chamomile, peppermint, turmeric, ginger, and fennel tea can help you reduce bloating. Tea made from dandelion leaves may help reduce bloating by reducing water retention.

2. Pan (Tambulam/Betel Leaf) 

Pan is a post-meal digestive stimulant according to Ayurveda. After a meal, chewing betel leaves can aid with digestion. 

This may stimulate the release of digestive juices, relieve constipation, and help lessen stomach bloating.

3. Elaichi (Cardamom) 

Cardamom has long been used as an anti-flatulent (prevents gas buildup), for treating indigestion, to aid digestion, and stimulate appetite.

You can combine cardamom, shunti (dry ginger), and rock salt to create a fine powder. Take this with warm water. This might assist with bloating and indigestion.

4. Chakra Phool (Star Anise) 

The star anise fruit is used for indigestion, bloating relief, and as a carminative (to release gas from the intestines).

  • A colon disorder known as irritable bowel syndrome is characterised by mucus passing in the faeces, constipation or diarrhoea, and abdominal pain.

  • Avoid Gassy foods ( foods that cause bloating such as cabbage, Brussel sprouts, beans, lentils, & turnips)
  • Avoid chewing gum & carbonated beverages
  • Eat your food slowly
  • Quit smoking
  • Avoid milk & other dairy items that contain lactose especially if you are lactose intolerant
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Avoid processed foods
  • Consume foods that reduce bloating: Fibre helps to clean out the faecal waste that has been trapped, which reduces constipation and relieves bloating. It also helps to promote beneficial bacteria in the stomach.
  • Do Exercise regularly

Although studies have shown the advantages of the listed herbs and home treatments for this disease, they are not always effective.
