Reverse Fatty Liver Symptoms Naturally

Fatty liver is a condition that is the result of fat accumulation in the liver. Sadly, by the time a person shows a few fatty liver symptoms, the liver is already damaged. Fat cells saturate the healthy liver, making it bloated and enlarged and can also cause a nagging pain. The best way to treat fatty liver symptom is to use a natural process that comprises of a healthy diet, exercise and natural remedies to bring the liver back to good health.

If your liver is saturated with fat cells, it is possible that you will notice a fatty liver symptom. Though not everyone with the disease shows these symptoms, a few common indications can be:

  • Dull or nagging pain in the abdominal area
  • Weakness and nausea
  • Bloating and flatulence
  • High cholesterol and high blood pressure levels
  • Weight gain
  • Yellowness in the skin

This disease develops slowly, which is why most people don’t even realise they suffer from it before it is too late. If not treated in time, fatty liver can result in liver scarring, inflammation and even cancer. Since there are no conventional methods to treat this disease, it is best to use a natural approach to revive the liver and ensure its healthy functioning once again.

Should You Take Fatty Liver Symptoms Seriously?

To understand why fatty liver is so dangerous, you need to know what functions a healthy liver handles. The liver is responsible for regulating your metabolism. This means that the liver burns fat and removes excess fat from the body — this mixes with the bile in your gut and is eliminated from your system. When your liver is healthy, losing weight is never a problem. But when you have a fatty liver, the process simply reverses. The liver begins to store fat, as opposed to pumping it out. As the liver slowly becomes a storehouse for extra fats, you will begin to see other serious health conditions arising like obesity, increased cholesterol levels and increased blood pressure. All of these will lead to several health complications if action is not taken in due time. Also, the liver itself gets damaged, increases chances that you will develop hepatitis or liver cirrhosis, which will eventually lead to liver failure and death.

Can Fatty Liver Symptoms Be Reversed Naturally?

Fatty liver can only be treated naturally. It isn’t difficult to learn how to do this, but the problem comes from the fact that curing it takes discipline and control. After all, haven’t we all tried to lose weight and failed time and again? But this is exactly what one needs to do to treat fatty liver. Doctors suggest that the best approach to reverse the symptoms of fatty liver and bring the liver back to health lies in a simple equation – Diet + Exercise + Natural Remedies

So, while fatty liver can be treated with natural methods, many people do wish there was medication available to treat the symptoms. Since there is none, it becomes increasingly important to understand this equation better and quit unhealthy habits as soon as possible.

Understanding The Equation: Diet + Exercise + Natural Remedies

If you are determined to reverse the symptoms of fatty liver and enjoy good health again, you will need to change your lifestyle. Losing weight is of prime importance here, as the more fat you eat, the more fat accumulates in the liver.

  1. Changing your Diet to Reverse Fatty Liver Symptoms

Diet plays a key role here. To begin with, quit smoking and drinking completely. Alcohol adversely affects the liver, and could be the reason you have a fatty liver in the first place. Coupled with habits like smoking and a strong palate for fried foods, this is a recipe for disaster.

Follow a healthy diet with a low glycemic index. Add a lot of fruits, vegetables and fibrous grains to your diet. Increase your intake of vitamins and minerals, and there is no better way to do it than by eating fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats like chicken and fish, and lean cuts of lamb. Make sure they are all eaten grilled or boiled and nothing is cooked in excess oil. Cut down your intake of saturated fats like butter, margarine and cream. If you must use oil, use monounsaturated oils like olive oil and canola oil only.

You also need to give up on all simple carbohydrates. White breads, white rice and white pasta are a strict no-no. Substitute them with multigrain or whole grain breads and pasta and switch over to brown rice. To detoxify your liver, drink lots of water and vegetable juices to flush out all toxins.

Also cut down on your intake of sugar. For diabetics, it is essential to maintain normal blood glucose levels. Elevated sugar levels or an uncontrolled diabetic condition will only further damage the liver. If you are diabetic, you should take the symptoms of fatty liver more seriously.

  1. Maintaining A Good Exercise Regimen To Reverse Fatty Liver Symptoms

The biggest trouble in maintaining a regular workout regimen is that people with fatty liver are low on energy and get tired easily. This makes exercising feel like a burden, even though it is the best way to lose weight effectively and reverse symptoms of a fatty liver. After you have made the shift to a healthier diet and given up on smoking and drinking, you’ll notice your energy levels have improved. You don’t need an aggressive workout regimen; a 30-minute walk or cycling will also highly benefit your condition.

As your strength improves, try your hand at sports like tennis, badminton and squash. Swimming is another effective way to stay in shape and burn off calories. Whatever exercise regimen you choose, make sure you enjoy it. Only then will you feel committed enough to exercise every day and further reverse the symptoms of a fatty liver. Combining a low carbohydrate diet that doesn’t cross 1,500 calories per day and a simple workout regimen is your best shot at regaining the healthy functioning of your liver.

  1. Using Natural Remedies To Reverse Fatty Liver Symptoms

While changing your diet and exercising every day will improve the condition of your liver, intake of a few natural remedies will further quicken the process. A few herbs and supplements can show great improvement, as they are both anti-inflammatory and antioxidants, which means they will stimulate the liver and reverse the damage. A few good examples are:

  • Barberry
  • Dandelion
  • Ginseng
  • Milk Thistle
  • Omega 3 fatty acids

Most of these have properties that are hepatoprotective in nature, which means they will regenerate healthy liver cells to reverse the damage caused.

Reversing your fatty liver symptoms is not a difficult task at all. All you need is a little determination, supervision from your physician and the will bring your liver back to good health.

Hi this was interesting. However you did not mention that long term use of medication can cause damage to the liver (and in my case also the kidneys). Most health professionals direct the blame to diet, alcohol, smoking, and exercise… I have been on long term pain relief and felt really ill my main symptoms: tiredness, extreme weakness, and the most important SEARING BURNING heat body wide. My gp refused to investigate saying this was nerve damage I change my gp and was granted blood tests thankfully this may have been in time.
I quite smoking and drinking 16 year ago and very rarely eat take away food yet this is what professionals accused me off… it takes guts to stand up to these people and inform them of the long term pain relief use!
the past few months I have under gone intense massage/holistic therapy to aid full body detox, taken milk thistle vitamin c 1000mg, vit E… I used lots of alternative approaches to get to where I am now starting to feel alive. I have started using toning tables to help with exercise as I still feel very weak but I am so glad to say I am feeling it is working and able to do more each week.
I really hope you may add to your list of causes the matter of medication which especially those with Gilberts syndrome (which I also discovered I have) really needs to be added… many thanks
